Most people do not understand the meaning of Rage-Quit, nor the meaning of Truthiness let alone Tech Savvy Truthiness and that is perfectly fine; for a Rando. Digital requirements for individuals and businesses are evolving. As, they do. Yet, being required to carry a smart phone is fairly new and this is only a simple step in one citizen’s evolution. The leaps that we all continue taking daily, they require us to know more to do more daily, with for instance terminology, the lingo, the new words that keep popping up. During 2020 the young have been growing thru all of this Pandemic, they are creating, currently each day online and taking classes online live. Inventing words. Inventing the new social. Uploading videos. Are you live online?

Can you write a little code, live-stream or understand a new application in seconds because it is a little necessary these days? I’m 47 and a bit nerdy, so it is kinda cool for a geek like me; graphic designer/web developer. Watching live-stream events on platforms like Twitch are entertaining for a bit. I do watch a select amount of YouTubers as being live online, well this is the new social. For young people. I am not so sure that anyone over 30 is aware, nor care. Thus, my writings today, as this article seeks to inform.

Streaming Live Is The New Social

The ways forward “socially” for my age group is to evolve away from the old social and to do more with the learn “how to” on YouTube and Google. Now a days, kids do this daily in online learning classes. They watch their shows via internet on those same platforms because cableTV is for old people. Adults can learn things from YouTube and watching how to videos or google instructions to any project. Why are they not watching shows like young people are? Cable television produces nothing, it is simply watched. Being live online is the current state of social for 2020 and forward.

CableTV is something that this house does not have, we have Netflix as my house currently has internet and we grow with technology. By watching YouTube and Netflix instead of Cable TV, I learned how to make YouTube videos and Livestream on Facebook, Zoom, Google Meets, Twitch and of course YouTube LIVE during my 2020 Pandemic. Then, I made the following video for YouTube. Enjoy.

To make the video above, I first had to learn the actual game. This is a culture of streaming LIVE individuals that have followers like myself, they make videos, have subscribers some one time visitors or long time followers. This kind of streamer tech has been around for a short while, yet never before has it created such a revenue stream or an audience like this, for individuals like this – regular people, talented people that create original entertainment. Well, not regular as they are special, famous to many. I have my favorites.

How to Live-Stream Quick & Easy

It took me 3 months to acquire the technology necessary and another six months to produce a live broadcast that I could be proud of and still today my dissatisfaction continues. Streaming to different platforms, using different video games that prefer particular resolutions and internet capabilities; it is a bit much. Quick and easy live-streaming is not. Attempting to live-stream has many requirements and steps to broadcast a quality production. Individuals who live-stream work hard and learn quickly, they adapt and evolve quickly. Nothing about any of that is easy and learning will not be quick.

Streamers also post YouTube videos, because there is money in it. Anyone can do it, yet it does take work and the streamers and YouTubers that I watch invest time and money in themselves and into their work. It shows through, that hard work, as they can create a more refined or visually extravagant version of their stream. These videos create a greater viewing experience, shorter with more bells and whistles kinda video for posting on YouTube. These are the kind I like most of all. My live-streams are all about learn this new technology and me being a noob is real. Although, I am meeting real people by using the chat.

The chat window introduces everyone to everyone. And, meeting others in game or in chat on live in a video stream can be fun. I learn how to make videos and stream live, the chat window is still a bit difficult for me to monitor though. You can take yoga lessons, give the lessons, game . . . just chat, attend LIVE events. There is no limit – every person can be heard, seen or an avatar can represent you; you decide. Check out a live-stream of a hobby that you have a passion for, sit back and learn. Next, get good.

Now please understand that I am a noob, but being age 47 going on 12 as I write this during a Pandemic; learning to stream. A whole new social world is out there and I’m not going to lie, here is a young again feeling. And, I’m maybe more of a #geek to be honest. Either way, the following links may be of some use to you, enjoy:

Within the world there are roughly 50 million players of Call of Duty Modern Warfare playing right now another 800 million subscribe to YouTube, Twitch has 15 million daily users while Zoom carries 12.9 million monthly active users and Google Meets currently has an enormous 100 million active participants.
