Very recently, I discovered while trapped in the house that the new social is gaming live online. A few days into quarantine, confused and overwhelmed, I personally had to facilitate and did witness a LIVE stream actually happen in my living room and between my daughter and her 3rd Grade school teacher. The tech aside, it went well, I did realize, that I did need to learn more to apply this to my lifestyle. How to do so, was next.

Very early on, and after I had viewed many a gaming livestream, while surfing online I did discover that a second cousin of mine was streaming a video game (Escape from Tarkov) with a group of his Twitch.tv subscribers. What is this? What does any of that mean? Well, I was so intrigued and more precisely put, obsessed that I began preparing to produce my own live stream.

Live Streaming To Be Social

Live streaming to be social is still a very new idea, yet while in quarantine millions have jumped onboard to observe. I am doing my own. I’m not always in the video creating, yet I am producing original content none the less, for YouTube, Facebook and Twitch. Just playing video games, read a story, exercise with a friend or teach a craft. Go check out a live streaming on Facebook, YouTube or any of the new platforms like Twitch.tv to see how the youth is building the new social.

Listed below are very nerdy technical skills that I am currently engaged in creating. Multiply the following list by three to arrive honestly to a finished production list of my past six months of YouTube uploads and LIVE streaming across multiple platforms during COVID. As I design and produce content I do continue to refine my skills at home and in quarantine. Currently.

  • Record my computer screen
  • Buy, learn and “get good” at one video game
  • Develop one tangible branded product
  • Produce, edit and post video
  • Write and record voice-overs
  • Grow a personality for said voice-overs
  • Publish videos on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook
  • Market and advertise videos
  • Make money during 2020

My Sample YouTube Videos

The following YouTube video is just a sample, a very simple published video on YouTube; Season 3 of Fortnite. Just a few games is my theme and this particular game is predominantly a younger kids game. It’s very difficult to learn and even more difficult to win. Plus, it is more like absolutely a kid’s game and they’re extremely good at it too, so look out.

Fortnite is the number one kids game in 2020 with over 250,000 players world wide. Also, Fortnite averages 10,000 Twitch streamers daily with over 200,000 viewers per day spread out between the content producers.

Technical Side Of Creating Content

What is creating content? Why are people doing this or rather what is a content producer? Keep in mind that hundreds of thousands of people are doing this and live streaming for a professional living during 2020. I am a noob, yet what these people are doing professionally to earn that living is simply live streaming their lives. Gaming is a dominant viewership but their are competitive streamers. Patrons pay what they can to continue the productions to cover some expenses. More importantly, the patrons lift up the show. Actually participate within chat. This is all just so new. Enjoy.
